  A Patron is a benefactor, protector of the arts. You could imagine “consiglieri’s” of the Patron spending these past years searching for producers who would fit the imprint perfectly. All artists were carefully curated in the hunt for productions that can be both dance floor orientated as well as avant-garde at the same time. With this, Patron wants to create a guild of artists and a platform where there’s more room for experiment. All Patron releases are distributed by the highly acclaimed Clone platform.
  
  Although based in Amsterdam, Patron doesn’t necessarily focus on artists from this area. The label is ambitious in building an international crew of artists around the imprint. This brought curator De Sluwe Vos to the German producer ENNIO, who is releasing the very first Patron EP in May 2017. ENNIO is also chosen to be a participant for this year's Red Bull Music Academy.
  
  Starting with ENNIO and a string of other interesting artists, who will be revealed later this year. ENNIO’s hitting stuff hard with a four-track EP that just begs to get playtime in a dark and sweaty club. The first track of the EP, Giza, starts with a clean but very fat beat that slowly but surely builds-up to a hypnotic rhythm you can’t take your ears off of. The chaotic, but at the same time orderly, Mosk takes on a more industrial approach, setting the tone for the B-sides of the EP. Stein Ego moves along a wobbly electronic bassline, while being a very straightforward deep track that lures you in with some minimal German male vocals. Closing the EP with Basmati, a track that leaves you energized and pumped for another round of ENNIO’s EP. ... more
